Project phases
From theory to proof of concept
Phase 01
Theoretical and experimental study of phononic surfaces
Phase one kicks the project off through the theorization and the experimentation. We’re basically making sure those surfaces work exactly as we predicted before actually fabricating them.
Phase 02
Fabrication and optimization of the structures
In Phase Two, the magic continues! It’s all about optimization – making those structures work like a charm for real-world applications.
Phase 03
Proof-of-concept applications for imaging with ultra-fast spatial light modulators
In Phase Three, we’ve reached an advanced level of technology know-how (TRL3) by carefully fabricating some top-notch samples and running experiments to prove our initial concept.
Work packages
Project Work Packages
WP1
Modelling of phononic surfaces
The objective of this work package is the development of theoretical tools for the study of microstructured phononic surfaces.
WP2
Optimization of vibrational mode density
The general objective of this work package is to provide necessary methods and tools for the design of phononic surfaces with desired dynamic properties.
WP3
Fabrication of phononic architectures
This work package focuses on the production of a variety of the phononic architectures modelled and characterized in the project.
WP4
Sample characterization
To characterize the samples and check their compliance with the requirement of projected SLM, we will measure the vibrational state on the phononic surfaces designed in WP1, optimized in WP2 and fabricated in WP3.
WP5
Application development
The objective of this work package is the development of proof-of-concept applications of the new concept of SLMs developed during the project.
WP6
Management
The main objective of this WP is to establish a project management structure (Project Coordination Committee) and procedures that coordinate the activities of the consortium.
WP7
Dissemination
The main objective of this WP is to implement the activities to maximise the impact of the project through communication, dissemination and exploitation activities.
